New catcher's glove Kim Losik Parent

Pros: I love that it is a Wilson A2000. The Wilson Brand has always been the "Go to" glove for any serious minded player. Good looking and what a new high school catcher needs.

Cons: The glove was supposed to come to me being somewhat broken it. The glove arrived in a plastic bag, brand new and extremely stiff. I participated in a PBR and every time I attempted to catch a ball it popped out of the glove. No flexibility!!! Disappointed that I paid for a breaking in process and did not receive it.

Excellent Mitt Aaron Coach

Pros: Very nice stiff leather, deep pocket, snug fit. Great looking and well constructed mitt, Wilson leather is top notch. Purchased for a 12-year old who out grew his last mitt. Player has fairly big hands already (size large in batting gloves), but likes the snug fit of this mitt as he breaks it in. After working it with a glove mallet and catching 80-100 balls from the batting cage machine a few times, it's starting to loosen up and he can squeeze most of the pitches. It is still a long way from playable but we didn't expect it to be game ready without a lot of work. He's really happy with the look, feel and fit.

Cons: Not a con, but it will take quite a bit of work to break in and become game playable. Access to an iron mike pitching machine really helps. Player likes the deep pocket of the CM33 but his older brother finds it a bit too deep for his taste - comes down to personal preference.

Great Transition Glove For Catchers BSODHA Parent

Pros: I have a 13yo son that has been catching now for 5+ years. We've gone through many options and now that we've transitioned to more competitive play, the timing was right to look into new gloves. You will not go wrong with the Wilson A2000. My kid loves it and its molded perfectly to fit his hands.

Cons: Break in. That is all. This takes time and you have to be patient. Lots of hammering, stretching and catching.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Wilson A2000 DPCM 33" Baseball Catcher's Mitt: WTA20RB19CM33? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

We are interested in either this or the black and copper A2000 but wanting to know how long it takes to break in and how difficult that process is. We have a Rawlings and hate it. Had it for three years and still can't catch with it, it's stiff as a board. Kurt
When it comes to catcher's mitts especially, purchasing a high quality glove with good leather is going to take awhile to break in. The best suggestion I have for speeding up that process is to find the fastest throwing pitching machine or catch partner you can. For the pitching machine, just find a bucket to sit in front of and catch balls. The faster the pitch speed, the faster the break-in period will be, as the impact will help squeeze the glove for the player while it is still in its stiff stage.

(1) Does this glove have plenty of padding? (2) Does it break down quick or last a while? (3) Do you have this glove in black? travis
(1) Yes, this Wilson A2000 33" Catcher's Mitt (WTA20RB19CM33) has lots of padding to it to protect a catcher's hand. (2) If the glove is cared-for correctly, this mitt should last multiple seasons. (3) We do not have an all-black version of this specific WTA20RB19CM33 model.

Do you have this glove in black? travis
The closest model to the Wilson A2000 33" Catcher's Mitt: WTA20RB19CM33 in a black colorway is the Wilson A2000 SuperSkin 33.5" Catcher's Mitt: WTA20RB18M2SS and it will be 33.5''.
Max
I was wondering how this fits the youth? Travis
The Wilson A2000 33" Catcher's Mitt: WTA20RB19CM33 will have the Pedroia fit making this mitt a better option for someone with a smaller hand. With that being said, how a glove or mitt ultimately fits a player would vary based on the player's preference.

From order to delivery, what is the shipping time on Wilson A2000 Catcher Mitt, right hand thrower, including prep or break in that y’all do? Recommended size for 13 year old? Tom Talley
Adding the Glove Prep service to the Wilson A2000 33" Catcher's Mitt: WTA20RB19CM33 does not delay the shipping timeline on an order. Since we ship from Kansas City, MO, with UPS, most customers receive their orders within 2-4 business days using the free ground shipping option. As for size of mitt to get a 13 year old catcher, we would recommend 32-33 inches.
Cameron
Does this glove, and all Dustin Pedroia A2000 catcher mitts, come with a built in thumb protector? Chris Richards
We are not aware of what type of thumb protection the Wilson A2000 33" Catcher's Mitt: WTA20RB19CM33 may feature.
Cameron
Is this a good choice for a USSSA AAA 13u catcher? Can you recommend size? My son is average size at 5'2". Frank Distefano
The Wilson A2000 33" Catcher's Mitt: WTA20RB19CM33 features the tighter Pedroia hand fitting which makes the mitt a good option for those 13-16 years of age. General recommendation for a 13 year old catcher would be 32.00-32.50 inch mitts.
Cameron
The "DP" stands for Dustin Pedroia fitting, will this mitt fit a normal sized man or will it be too small? Nick
With the Wilson A2000 33" Catcher's Mitt: WTA20RB19CM33 featuring the DP15 hand setting, it will likely fit too tight/small on most adult size hands. If the player prefers a tighter hand setting, then this mitt would be a great option to consider!
Cameron
Is this a standard fit or Pedroia Fit? The PFCM33 explicitly states it as Pedroia Fit, but other than the video, I have not seen where the DPCM33 is stated as being Pedroia Fit. Eric
The Wilson A2000 33" Catcher's Mitt: WTA20RB19CM33 features the tighter Pedroia hand fitting.
