Shoeless Joe Gloves give players the quality, feel and style of the gloves used by professional ball players over the last 100 years. You can choose glove models used in the first half of century in the Golden Age Series, today's models in the Professional Model Series, youth gloves with the Joe Junior Series, or fastpitch softball gloves with the Shoeless Jane Series. Shoeless Joe gloves are individually hand-cut and sewn from Special Aged Antique Tobacco Leather Hides. Shoeless Joe gloves are then hand-rubbed with old time ingredients to soften the leather before they go through their breaking in process that leaves the glove with a beaten up and "Game Worn" look and feel, of a broken in glove. Thus each glove is unstructured giving it its own unique features. Players can choose to play with an old time or modern day web without having to change to another model. A great play is lived only once, but your glove, you'll keep it forever. If you end a game with a clean uniform our gloves are not for you. Shoeless Joe: When It Was Just a Game. Free Shipping!
add_circle_outlinePros: Quick break-in. That's it.
remove_circle_outlineCons: Bought this glove for my 11 year old daughter for Christmas (8 months ago). She's played approximately 60-70 games since then in 3 different leagues. This glove is a dish rag now. WAY too broken down. When she catches the ball, the thumb completely collapses outward, and frequently jambs up her thumb. The pocket just simply won't contain a 12 inch ball. She looks like Honus Wagner or Ty Cobb trying to catch the ball with a 100-year old glove. She kept telling me the thumb is breaking over and causing her lots of pain. I tried the glove this evening and now my thumb is sore. I walked straight in the house and got her old one. The reason it sells is because it's practically broken in when you buy it. Within six months, the thumb of the glove will break down and flap like a dish rag in the wind.
add_circle_outlinePros: Quality leather. Breaks in quickly. Fits her VERY small hand comfortable. Adjustable wrist strap works great for her. She plays travel ball 10u/12u. After using the glove for warmups a few times, it was game ready. The pocket is still forming but is getting there quickly. The ball already 'sticks' well and I expect that to get better as the pocket continues to form. Some have noted that the glove breaks down quickly so we'll see but the company does have a reconditioning program. Not sure how that works but so far we are very happy with the glove.
remove_circle_outlineCons: None so far. Will update later if we have problems. Only used for 2 tournaments so far.
great first step into big girl glove
add_circle_outlinePros: it comes out of the box nearly playable. the leather is as high of quality as any glove out there.
remove_circle_outlineCons: the only con ive heard of is life of the glove. for me this has never been an issue. i just biught the 12" for my 10 year old who had been using her sisters hand me down 11 3/4. the 11 3/4 is now 4 years old and i inky bought her a new one because she's been working hard and has earned it. ive recommended this brand to lots of people over the years.
Good evening, I'm looking for a Shoeless Joe outfielder's mitt for my 12 year old. Preferably, I'd like this mitt to be 12 inches. You guys have anything that fits that bill?
The two models will be 12" outfield models in the Shoeless Joe Series: Shoeless Joe Professional Series: 1200BW, and Shoeless Joe Professional Series: 1200VL. These are for boys baseball. If you are looking for a 12" outfield fastpitch model here you go: Shoeless Joe Shoeless Jane Fastpitch Series: 1200FPBW.
My daughter is 12 and plays on a fastpitch travel team. She pitches, plays first base, and occasionally left field. She wants a Shoeless Joe/Jane glove. What would you recommend?
The Shoeless Joe Shoeless Jane Fastpitch Series: 1200FPBW is slightly large based on her age and primary positions, at 12.00". We recommend closer to an 11.50" for 12 year old playing primarily infield, such as the Shoeless Joe Shoeless Jane Fastpitch Series: 1175FPHW which is 11.75".
Please describe the difference between your glove & Roy Hobs outfield glove?
The Shoeless Jane Fastpitch Series (1200FPBW) and Roy Hobbs gloves are both considered "Vintage Gloves". Both brands of gloves come pre-oiled and so they will be very soft. These gloves will require little to no break in period, they will be pretty much game ready right out of the box. Performance and durability wise, both gloves are comparable.
My daughter is turning 14 and plays for a local travel team. She plays second base and outfield. What would be a good combo infield and outfield glove?
The pocket style and 12 inch size on the Shoeless Joe Shoeless Jane Fastpitch Series (1200FPBW) would make it an excellent option for play at those positions. It would be long enough to snag balls on the run in the outfield but not too long to make it hard to maneuver at second base.
Is this glove going to be too heavy for a small framed 9 year old girl? She uses a 12.50 inch Mizuno glove right now and I am looking to upgrade her glove.
The Shoeless Joe Shoeless Jane Fastpitch Series (1200FPBW) should be a nice fit for your daughter in terms of weight. It will be slightly heavier than the Mizuno Youth Fastpitch models due to the quality of leather used.
I'm looking for a glove that will finish out my daughter's high school career. She's looking for a well made broken in glove. She likes her A2000 but it has cracked up so bad on the inside. She pitches, plays short stop, and third base. She likes the 12.5 size. Would this be a good glove for her?
If you're looking for a high quality, broken in glove then the Shoeless Joe Shoeless Jane Fastpitch Series: 1200FPBW would be an excellent choice for your player. But if you're looking for a fastpitch glove with a 12.50 inch pattern then I would recommend taking a look at the Shoeless Joe Shoeless Jane Fastpitch Series: 1250FPBW. This particular Shoeless Joe Shoeless Jane series glove features a 12.50 inch pattern and will arrive game ready. I have included a link to that glove below for you.
My 13 yrs old daughter is looking for new glove. She pitches, plays 2nd and outfield. She is a bit on the smaller side and was wondering if this is too big of a glove for her?
In regard to the age of your player and the variety of positions she plays, I think the 12.00" length of this Shoeless Joe Shoeless Jane Fastpitch Series (1200FPBW) will be the correct size for her. As well, it will have a basket webbing to keep her from tipping off pitches while she is on the mound and an adjustable wrist strap to make sure the glove stays tight on her hand. Lastly, it will also come with a 100 day guarantee on it. That guarantee would allow you to purchase the glove and use it, then if within 100 days of the purchase date you decide that it is not to your liking you can send it back to us for a full refund or exchange. Ultimately you would risk no money if you wanted to just try out the glove.
Does this glove have XRD padding in the palm?
This Shoeless Joe Shoeless Jane Fastpitch Series (1200FPBW) will not have the XRD padding on it for extra palm protection. The only Shoeless Jane fastpitch models we carry that have the XRD padding are the 1300FPFB and the 1125FPCW.

Pro Soft Glove Conditioner
(1) - First remove any existing dirt by wiping the glove with a clean, dry cloth. (2) - When clean, rub a small amount of conditioner into the leather with hands or clean cloth. (3) - Work it into the web, palm, laces, inside of the glove, & any other area that has become dry or is starting to crack. (4) - When finished, place your glove in a warm, dry area (70 - 90 F) & allow the leather to absorb the conditioner for 24 hrs. (5) - Re-treat your glove when you notice the leather is starting to dry out. Prior to the off-season, apply a light coat of conditioner to keep the leather from becoming brittle.
Note: Excessive glove conditioner/oil can damage or shorten the life of a new glove. Use it sparingly.
