Description

This Shoeless Joe Glove 1125CW give a player the quality, feel and style of the gloves used by professional ball players over the last 100 years. You can choose glove models used in the first half of century in the Golden Age Series or today`s models in the Professional Model Series. The Shoeless Joe gloves are individually hand-cut and sewn from Special Aged Antique Tobacco Leather Hides. Shoeless Joe gloves are then hand-rubbed with old time ingredients to soften the leather before they go through their breaking in process that leaves the glove with a beaten up and game worn look and feel, of a broken in glove. Thus each glove is unstructured giving it its own unique feature. Shoeless Joe Professional Series gloves have the unique features that allow players to interchange a variety of our web designs. Players can choose to play with an old time or modern day web without having to change to another model. A great play is lived only once, but your glove, you`ll keep it forever. If you end a game with a clean uniform our gloves are not for you. Shoeless Joe: When it Was Just a Game!

Pros: A really neat glove. Feels great and is also very light. I'm not sure it would hold up to everyday use for an entire season, but for anyone who needs a glove just for playing catch or as a backup, this would be a great one.

Cons: Needs more padding in the palm. But it's no big deal if you catch the ball square in the pocket.

Coach Matt

Pros: High-quality, well-softened leather made this glove easy to close right out of the box. It has a wonderful vintage look without looking worn-out (lighter color than the pictures reflect). I would expect this to be a highly effective infielder's glove for players of all ages, or a great multi-purpose glove for women or kids. I have absolutely no concerns about longevity or durability. It looks like it will last a lifetime, no matter how frequently used. I got this as a gift for my wife, and I am envious. I am counting the days until I can afford my own Shoeless Joe glove.

Cons: The specific glove that we received created a little discomfort inside the palm due to the way one of the laces was pulled through (possibly the only potential drawback to it being handmade). I put a small band-aid over the one tiny spot of abrasive, pinching lace, and the discomfort went away. The palm of the glove does lack padding, so I would not recommend this glove for anyone who values a well-padded palm.

Pros: I'll compare this to my Primo. Well first things first, the padding is almost none. After a while of using padded palms you forget what the ball really feels like. Yes, the leather is pre-broken-in but still feels solid. Break in is an hour of long toss. I turned some heads when I brought this to practice. The felt brand tag is the perfect accent and the Primo feels big and heavy compared to the lighter, more shallow Shoeless Joe.

Cons: Just remember what every coach has yelled, two hands! I bought this as a backup and the Rawlings as a game day. Yeah, that changed.

Pros: The only word you need to understand what I love about this glove is "fun." These gloves are just enjoyable to own and play casually or in low-level competitive play.

Cons: Well, in a sense, none. These are NOT a top of the line professional quality glove. I don't think you will see many of them in MLB or MiLB, or even top-tier college teams. But, to be fair, they aren't marketed that way. The product is correctly represented, and really IS a joy to use.

Pros: Good looking glove!

Cons: I read all the reviews and was super excited to buy this for my so! All the reviews said ready to use right out of the box.. The glove we got wasn't! It's still a good looking glove and looks like it will last him for a long time but will take a bit to break it in!

Jim

Pros: I've had this glove for 2 years. It's my every day, go-to glove. In the fewest words possible, it makes baseball fun. And it looks great. If simpler is better to you, than you'll love the feel and action of this glove.

Cons: It smells strongly of tanners/solvents used on the glove for first month of use.

Pros: Great look, shape and feel. Love the retro one piece web. I'm fine with lack of padding, that is what the pocket and web are for. Super easy break in.

Cons: The thumb stall is in the wrong place and a bit too unsubstantial to keep it stable.

CD

Pros: Very nice glove with wonderful leather. Some reviews in various places have said that the leather was too soft. Those people must have gotten a bad cut of leather or something. Mine is perfect. It's not fully broken in when I got it, which is what I prefer. However, it was broken in about 35% more than regular gloves off the shelf. This is a very nice looking and very good feeling glove. I anticipate that this thing should last several years even with daily use. I like it far more than my old Wilson A2000-L (which is an awesome glove) that I used from little league all through college. I dislike the new flashy color styles that other glove companies are pushing. This glove has the exact look that I prefer and love showing off. In short, this glove is just awesome. PLUS, it's assembled in the USA so you're supporting our local boys and girls in the industry.

Cons: It was a tad tight (not uncomfortable, though) on my hand when it was brand new, but it loosened up perfectly during the break-in process. Also, I wish this exact style was currently available in 11.5 inches. That's all.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Shoeless Joe Professional 11.25" Baseball Glove: 1125CW? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Would this be a good glove for 10 year old? He is on the small side but handles a glove well. Thoughts? Joe
The Shoeless Joe Professional Series is an adult glove and will be a little large for a ten year old. This being said, there are a lot of folks who will buy the glove with the knowledge that the fitting may be a little large for a few seasons. If you are okay with your player having to grow into this glove, you could certainly go for it!
Kara
I'm 13, 5'6" playing shortstop. What glove size would you recommend for me if I wanted to use this glove throughout high school? And I was wondering if this a vintage glove? Andy
We recommend a 11.50" Shoeless Joe Professional Series if you want the glove to last through high school. The Shoeless Joe gloves are a vintage type glove. They are pre-oiled for a soft, vintage look.
Kara
Since the 10" Shoeless glove is your largest youth size, would this glove be too large for a youth 10-11 years old? Fred
The Shoeless Joe Professional Series (1125CW) is an adult glove. However, the 11.25" size would work for a 10-11 year old player as long as you are okay for it being a little large in its fitting at the outset.
Kara
Would the 11.25 be too large for a tall 8 year old who needs a glove that would be used in the outfield and also be used at first base occasionally? Chicago
While an 11.25 inch pattern could be appropriate for those positions, the Shoeless Joe Professional Series (1125CW) would be an adult model that might be too big for the players hand. Most 8 year old players would still need a youth model glove with smaller hand opening and finger stalls. This being said, we have had customers buy a glove like this one for a younger player in the hope that they will grow into the glove within a few seasons.
Patrick
Would this be a good glove for my 9-10 year old who plays mainly in the infield? Bearcat
The Shoeless Joe Professional Series: 1125CW is a glove designed more for an adult hand in terms of wrist opening and finger stalls design. Even though the glove is not technically geard towards a 9-10 year old player, I think you could get this glove (even though it may be a tad large right now) and plan for him to grow into the glove completely within a couple-to-a-few seasons.
Cameron
I am confused by the advice of the experts here. Some of you say this adult model glove should work well for a 9-11 year old player, some say it would be too large. The Shoeless Joe site say it "could" be used as a youth glove, but I'm really hoping for some more clarity here. Since Shoeless Joe only makes 9 & 10" youth models specifically, is there no model meant for the 9-12 year old in their line? What would you recommend for a skilled 9 year old lefty pitcher whose parents wish they could afford a Nokona but can't quite justify that price tag? Lisa
The Shoeless Joe Professional Series: 1125CW is a glove that will feature a wrist opening designed for an adult hand. Although the 11.25 inch pattern of the glove is a good size for a 9-12 year old the wrist opening and finger stalls on the Shoeless Joe Professional Series: 1125CW will not allow for a snug fit for a younger player. At this time Shoeless Joe only offers their youth models in the smaller sizes. You are correct that Shoeless Joe does not technically make a model that we would say is meant for the 19-12 year old range. However, we have found that younger players will go with a glove like this one (even though it may be large) and plan to grow with the glove.
Cameron
What type of leather is it? kade
This Shoeless Joe Professional Series (1125CW) features Special Aged Antique Tobacco Leather.
