Pros: The glove has a great feel and is 80% broken in from day one. My son is a catcher on his varsity team and has used numerous brands. I would compare this glove to the higher end brands such as the Rawlings Heart of the Hide and Wilson models without the stiffness and length of break-in time. The pocket holds the ball well and has an easy transfer. I would recommend this glove to any serious catcher.
Cons: The lacing is a little loose but can be easily adjusted to individual preference. Other than that the glove is perfect.

Pros: Feels Great on My Hand! Breaking in good so far for a Brand New Mitt Really Like the Stitching and Design of the Mitt!
Cons: Pricey, but you gotta protect your Hand! Cheaper Mitts don't have what it takes to handle fastballs 80 MPH and up!

Is this made from Tabacco leather like the other ones? Is it higher quality? Jt
I was a catcher and have finally decided to retire my mitt that is about 50 years old! It was a gift from a professional player and not only did I enjoy using it, but I kept it very close and maintained it all these years. My grandsons now play and two are pitchers. The older one throws rather fast and hard. I want to continue to catch for them as long as the knees will hold up and have looked at this shoeless joe pro select as well as the other shoeless joe priced at $189.00 I have also considered the nokona 33" mitt as well as the 2017 walnut mitt. I need something with good padding for the index finger and the joints where the fingers meet the palm. My old mitt was a 33" with a closed two piece web, so that is what I am used to. Can you rate the mitts I have mentioned and make a recommendation? Also, if there is another that meets my criteria and that will hold up for several years, I will take a look at it. Catcher Jim
About the Brand
Shoeless Joe gloves give a player the feeling and quality of gloves used by professional ball players over the last 100 years. The Gloves are individually hand-cut and sewn from Special Aged Antique Tobacco Leather Hides. Our gloves are then hand-rubbed with old time ingredients to soften the leather before they go through our breaking in process that leaves the Glove with a beaten up and “Game Worn™” look and feel, of a broken in glove. Thus each glove is unstructured giving its own unique feature.
A great play is lived only once, but your glove is something you’ll keep forever. If you end a game with a clean uniform, our gloves are not for you.
