My son, 8 years old 4'2" 88 pounds, is currently using a Mizuno Prospect Series: GXC112 Youth Catcher's Mitt 31.5 inch. It fits well but I am looking for a mitt with a deeper pocket. How does the Mizuno compare to the Shoeless Joe 3000JR and the Shoeless Joe 3200CM? Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
The Mizuno Prospect Series (GXC112 Youth Catcher's Mitt) will have a bit of a smaller pocket than both the Shoeless Joe Professional Series (3200CM Catcher's Mitt) and the Shoeless Joe Joe Junior Series (3000JR Youth Catcher's Mitt) even despite the smaller circumference size in the Joe Junior Model. That being said, all 3 mitts will similar in the softness of the leather and require little-to-no break in time. All 3 mitts you are looking at are excellent for game-ready catching options.
My son is almost six and wants to catch for coach pitch again. Is this glove the right size for him?
The Shoeless Joe Joe Junior Series (3000JR Youth Catcher's Mitt) is a youth model at 30". It would be a great size for a 6-8 year old player.
My son is almost 10 and currently uses a Wilson A800, would I need the 30" or 32" glove?
At 30.00", the Shoeless Joe Joe Junior Series: 3000JR Youth Catcher's Mitt may be a little too small for your son. I would look at a mitt closer to 31.50" in size.
Shoeless Joe Gloves give a player the quality, feel and style of the gloves used by professional ball players over the last 100 years. You can choose glove models used in the first half of century in the Golden Age Series, today's models in the Professional Model Series, or youth gloves with the Joe Junior Series. Shoeless Joe gloves are individually hand-cut and sewn from Special Aged Antique Tobacco Leather Hides. Shoeless Joe gloves are then hand-rubbed with old time ingredients to soften the leather before they go through their breaking in process that leaves the glove with a beaten up and "Game Worn" look and feel, of a broken in glove. Thus each glove is unstructured giving it its own unique features. Players can choose to play with an old time or modern day web without having to change to another model. A great play is lived only once, but your glove, you'll keep it forever. If you end a game with a clean uniform our gloves are not for you. Shoeless Joe: When It Was Just a Game. Free Shipping!
The owner of any Shoeless Joe baseball glove can now return their glove to Shoeless Joe to be reconditioned for $25.00.
