Description

Softball professionals, such as USSSA Pride team member Keilani Ricketts, use and trust Rawlings fastpitch gloves on game day and so should you. The Liberty Advanced series combines perfectly balanced patterns with tried-and-true leather. With a full-grain, oil-treated leather shell, each model arrives game ready and only requires a 20% player break-in. Tailored to fit a female athlete's hand, the hand opening and finger stalls are adjusted slightly smaller to improve the overall fit and control a fastpitch player feels. This dynamic new pattern technology from Rawlings is here to stay and ready to take diamonds across the nation by storm. Inside of each pattern and along the backside, Rawlings' Poron XRD palm and index finger padding tremendously decreases the amount of sting felt on defense against batted balls. Let's not forget the all leather laces that tie each softball glove together and provide superior structure, long-term shape retention, and a perfect pocket. Rawlings: The Mark of a Pro!

This Rawlings Liberty Advanced Fastpitch Softball Glove (RLA715-2W) features a small 11 3/4-inch size, a pro-I-web, and a narrow fit opening that's intended for smaller hands. Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Rawlings Liberty Advanced 11.75" Fastpitch Softball Glove: RLA715-2W? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

My 12 year old daughter is currently using a 11.75" Shoeless Jane glove, it's time to get a new one. What size would you recommend for someone who's primarily an infielder but will occasionally play outfield? Should I stay with an 11.75" or go 12"? Steve
At her age and playing mostly infield, I think sticking with the 11.75" size would be fine, and the Rawlings Liberty Advanced 11.75" Fastpitch Softball Glove: RLA715-2W would be a great upgrade.

Looking for a glove for my 10 year old daughter. Would this glove fit someone her age? She plays both infield and outfield. Jason Perry
This is an adult model designed to fit an adult's hand. It's tough to say whether a 10 year old would be better suited for an adult model or a youth model, since hand sizes can vary wildly starting around that age for girls, but this would be a good glove to grow into nonetheless. We also have our 100 day return policy on gloves, so it can always be sent back for a full refund if it turns out too big.

Can you stitch a players name on the glove? James
We are unable to stitch or embroider names into stock gloves (like this Rawlings Liberty Advanced 11.75" Fastpitch Softball Glove: RLA715-2W) that we fulfill out of our JustGloves warehouse. However, if you had interest in building a custom glove from Rawlings. You can embroider a glove when you create a glove in the custom builder. The Rawlings Custom Glove builder is available on our site. You build the glove and we process the payment, but the glove is built through Rawlings and can take between 6-8 weeks to get built and delivered.

Looking for a middle infield glove for high school/travel ball. Would this be a good choice or do I need to look at a 12 inch glove? wj
The Rawlings Liberty Advanced 11.75" Fastpitch Softball Glove: RLA715-2W is certainly a good option for a high school/travel ball player who is an infielder. Infielders will use between 11.75-12.25 (more utility) so just comes down to personal preference. A good 12.00 inch model would be the Rawlings Liberty Advanced 12" Fastpitch Softball Glove: RLA120-3WG.
Cameron
I have an 8 year old beginner. Would this glove fit her? If not are there any other white youth gloves that are quality? Scott
The Rawlings Liberty Advanced 11.75" Fastpitch Softball Glove: RLA715-2W would not be considered a youth model. The concern would be that the internal structure is too big for an 8 year old player. For her age, I would recommend a youth constructed option like the Rawlings Champion Lite 11.5" Fastpitch Softball Glove: CL115BMT.
Daveron
Can you tighten the glove around the wrist? Michael
No, the Rawlings Liberty Advanced 11.75" Fastpitch Softball Glove: RLA715-2W is already set up with the smallest wrist opening and does not feature a velcro or pull strap design to make it smaller.

About the Brand

Rawlings is a major manufacturer of competitive team sports equipment and apparel for baseball, basketball, and football, as well as licensed MLB, NFL, and NCAA retail products. Rawlings is a major supplier to professional, collegiate, interscholastic, and amateur organizations worldwide, including the Official Baseball Supplier to Major League Baseball.

The first real innovation in glove making occurred in 1912 when Rawlings Sporting Goods Company introduced the "Sure Catch" glove, which was "endorsed by leading players all over the country." The Sure Catch was a one-piece glove with sewn-in finger channels and looked better suited for a duck's foot than a man's hand. Catchers' mitts used at the time were large and bulky with a single leather thong passing for a web.

In 1920, Bill Doak, a journeyman pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals, approached Rawlings with an idea for improving the baseball glove from a mere protective device to a genuine aid in fielding. The "Bill Doak" model was so revolutionary that it stayed in Rawlings' line until 1953. Its key feature was a multi-thong web laced into the first finger and thumb, which created for the first time in baseball's young life, a natural pocket.

In 1925, Rawlings unveiled a three-fingered fielder's glove, and ten years later improved the Bill Doak model with a two-piece leather web. At the same time, the "T" web became a rage for first basemen's mitts. The pocket underwent a pronounced change in 1941 when the Trapper Mitt, also known as the Claw, appeared. The "Deep Well" pocket was so unique that Rawlings quickly patented it. The design was improved in 1950 by adding a leather piece across the top. Another significant creation occurred in 1948 with the three-fingered Playmaker. A five-fingered fielder's model, with all fingers laced together, provided greater pocket control.

The six-fingered Trap-Eze evolved in the 1960's. In more recent years, Rawlings produced the Fastback design, which gives a glove a snugger fit, greater extension, and overall control. The Holdster is a slot through which a finger can be extended for additional protection from impacts on the pocket. Then, there is the Edge-U-Cated Heel with its extended U-shaped lacing and the Pro H Web and much-copied Basket Web.

Some of Rawlings's more recent glove innovations also include the unique Spin-Stopper design which reduces ball spin when the ball hits the glove, and the Cantilever glove design feature that provides a cushioned area between the hand and the glove's palm area. In all, Rawlings has produced and patented more functionally innovative glove features and designs than that of any other glove manufacturer. The result is that the modern baseball glove is much larger, more comfortable, better padded, and made to last far longer than its ancestors. It is not uncommon to see today's Major League players wearing the same Rawlings glove they wore during their college playing days. In fact, Rawlings is the #1 glove in the major leagues. Rawlings maintains about 65 models of baseball and softball mitts and gloves in its line. The prototypes of virtually all of them have been field-tested by professionals before entering a sporting goods dealer's inventory.
