Matt

Pros: Super easy break in, less than a week. Son is 10 and the narrow fit is perfect for his hand size. 11.75 inch and the 31 pattern makes it a perfect utility glove to play all over the field without breaking the bank.

Cons: I wish the lacing was a little higher grade leather

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Rawlings GG Gamer Narrow Youth Fit Series: G315-6B? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

I'm 13, can I use this in the outfield? Tommy
The 2016 Rawlings GG Gamer Narrow Fit Series: G315-6B featurs an 11.75" pattern and it can be used in the outfield.
Jason
For shortstop, would you recommend an H-Web or an I-Web? Jimmy Joe
A web style will not inherently enhance the play of a shortstop. Both the H-Web of this 2016 Rawlings GG Gamer Narrow Fit Series (G315-6B) and the I-Web of another option of glove would be able to be used by a shortstop for play. The decision will just come down the specific player's preferences.
Ben
Does this glove have dri lex or fur inside? HUDS31
The 2016 Rawlings GG Gamer Narrow Fit Series (G315-6B) has fur inside on the wrist liner.
Jake
What glove oil/conditioner do you suggest using on this glove? bob
The 2016 Rawlings GG Gamer Narrow Fit Series: G315-6B will feature roughly a 70% factory break-in meaning it will not take much to get the glove game ready. As for the oil/conditioner to use, any glove specific oil/conditioner will work as these products have been designed to treat the leathers being used specifically for baseball/softball gloves and mitts. Our Pro Soft Conditioner would be an excellent one.
Cameron
Does this glove play bigger, smaller, or similar to its size? Ryan
The 2016 Rawlings GG Gamer Narrow Fit Series: G315-6B plays pretty true to its 11.75" pattern.
Jason
My son is 11 and about 4'8". He has narrow hands but fairly long fingers and play mostly outfield. Would you recommend this glove or would a Pro Taper be a better fit? Ray Gonz
The 2016 Rawlings GG Gamer Narrow Fit Series: G315-6B would be a good choice for him as it has a narrow fit design. It is a good choice for intermediate players.
Tori
What is the difference between the Gamer Narrow fit series, and the Youth Pro Taper series ? Jim Jagodzinski
The Rawlings GG Gamer Narrow Fit Series are gloves designed for adults, yet it still has a smaller hand opening for intermediate players or adults wanting a snug fit. It will also require a bit more break-in than the Youth Pro Taper series. The Youth Pro Taper series is designed for youth players.
Kyle J.
How much more narrow is the narrow fit series than a standard? Do you offer a standard sized model? HS player
The 2016 Rawlings GG Gamer Narrow Fit Series: G315-6B and the narrow fit design of the wrist opening will make this glove much tighter on the wrist than a standard adult model glove. As for comparable model that does not feature the narrow fit design, we do not have a similar model. The closest model currently in stock would be the 2017 Rawlings Heritage Pro 11.75" Baseball Glove: HPW315WDS .
Cameron
Would this glove be good for middle infielder/outfielder who also plays 3rd base? Matthew K.
The 2016 Rawlings GG Gamer Narrow Fit Series: G315-6B is a 11.75 inch glove that could be used as a utility model for a younger player (ages 10-12) thanks to its narrow fit design. This design helps create a smaller hand opening. For an older player, it could work for 3B but is typically seen as too small for the OF and too big for the middle infield.
Cameron
It just comes with the narrow fit but enough length for adult fingers? Bryce
The Rawlings GG Gamer Narrow Fit Series: G315-6B is a narrow fit with adult finger stalls. The glove could be a little tight on your adult hand.
Max
Would this glove be good for my 12 year old for outfield and pitching? liam
I would look into a little bit longer option. The Rawlings GG Gamer Narrow Youth Fit Series: G315-6B will be 11.75'' and may be a little short for outfield for your 12 year old.
Max
Does Rawlings make this model for a left hand thrower? If not, do you suggest something similar for 9.5 year old? Jeff
The Rawlings GG Gamer Narrow Youth Fit Series: G315-6B will not come in a left handed thrower, although I would recommend something similar just being a left handed thrower.
Max
Would this be good for a average size 14 year old playing outfield for the freshman team? Isaiah
While the Rawlings GG Gamer Narrow Youth Fit Series: G315-6B is a quality glove, I would recommend a larger glove for your player. Maybe check out something like the Rawlings R9 Series 12" Baseball Glove: R9206-9BSG.
Tyler
Is this a good third baseman glove? I'm 14 turning 15 next summer. Ameir
This glove will most likely be far too small for a 14 year old. It's a Youth model so it is designed for a younger player, and it is also a Narrow Fit Design, which reduces the size of the wrist opening and finger stalls even further.
Kyle J.
I'm 14 years old turning 15. Is this glove good for third base? Ameir
This Rawlings GG Gamer Narrow Youth Fit Series (G315-6B) will have a fitting that will be for a much younger player than a 14 year old. A mitt I might suggest for a 14 year old at 3B is the Easton Flagship Series 11.75" Baseball Glove (FS1175). It is more expensive, but I think you would be happy with the fit and leather quality.

About the Brand

Rawlings is a major manufacturer of competitive team sports equipment and apparel for baseball, basketball, and football, as well as licensed MLB, NFL, and NCAA retail products. Rawlings is a major supplier to professional, collegiate, interscholastic, and amateur organizations worldwide, including the Official Baseball Supplier to Major League Baseball.

The first real innovation in glove making occurred in 1912 when Rawlings Sporting Goods Company introduced the "Sure Catch" glove, which was "endorsed by leading players all over the country." The Sure Catch was a one-piece glove with sewn-in finger channels and looked better suited for a duck's foot than a man's hand. Catchers' mitts used at the time were large and bulky with a single leather thong passing for a web.

In 1920, Bill Doak, a journeyman pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals, approached Rawlings with an idea for improving the baseball glove from a mere protective device to a genuine aid in fielding. The "Bill Doak" model was so revolutionary that it stayed in Rawlings' line until 1953. Its key feature was a multi-thong web laced into the first finger and thumb, which created for the first time in baseball's young life, a natural pocket.

In 1925, Rawlings unveiled a three-fingered fielder's glove, and ten years later improved the Bill Doak model with a two-piece leather web. At the same time, the "T" web became a rage for first basemen's mitts. The pocket underwent a pronounced change in 1941 when the Trapper Mitt, also known as the Claw, appeared. The "Deep Well" pocket was so unique that Rawlings quickly patented it. The design was improved in 1950 by adding a leather piece across the top. Another significant creation occurred in 1948 with the three-fingered Playmaker. A five-fingered fielder's model, with all fingers laced together, provided greater pocket control.

The six-fingered Trap-Eze evolved in the 1960's. In more recent years, Rawlings produced the Fastback design, which gives a glove a snugger fit, greater extension, and overall control. The Holdster is a slot through which a finger can be extended for additional protection from impacts on the pocket. Then, there is the Edge-U-Cated Heel with its extended U-shaped lacing and the Pro H Web and much-copied Basket Web.

Some of Rawlings's more recent glove innovations also include the unique Spin-Stopper design which reduces ball spin when the ball hits the glove, and the Cantilever glove design feature that provides a cushioned area between the hand and the glove's palm area. In all, Rawlings has produced and patented more functionally innovative glove features and designs than that of any other glove manufacturer. The result is that the modern baseball glove is much larger, more comfortable, better padded, and made to last far longer than its ancestors. It is not uncommon to see today's Major League players wearing the same Rawlings glove they wore during their college playing days. In fact, Rawlings is the #1 glove in the major leagues. Rawlings maintains about 65 models of baseball and softball mitts and gloves in its line. The prototypes of virtually all of them have been field-tested by professionals before entering a sporting goods dealer's inventory.
