Description

Mizuno is known for making it their priority to develop ball gloves for every age and skill level. The Prospect Series is tailor-made to fit a young ball player's hand. Multiple technologies make it easier for younger players to close the glove, catch the ball and learn to love the game. These gloves help youth players catch the "right" way, in the pocket. Mizuno's patented PowerClose technology places "hinges" where players would close the glove to make squeezing the ball and making the catch as simple as can be! Inside the glove, a ParaShock Palm Pad reduces all shock caused by impact and leaves the player's hand sting-free! This mitt also utilizes Mizuno's adjustable wrist strap to create a snug, comfortable and custom fit for every player. This 32.50 Inch catcher's mitt is transitional sized and features a two-piece closed web to make snagging any kind of pitch as simple as possible. Mizuno: Be Yourself, Only Better! Free Shipping!

Pros: Just the right size for my 9-year-old. Oiled it up and he caught with it the next day. He loves it.

Cons: Turned a not-too-soiled baseball almost black on first use. Turned my hand black when oiling it. Hope that goes away with use.

Pros: I bought this for my 9 year old son and he loves it. Oiled it up and it's ready to go right out of the box. Perfect size and feel. He also has a Mizuno first baseman's mitt that he got last year, and I have to say, I really think Mizuno has nailed the Youth market.

Cons: I suspect it won't last as long as some other brands due to being pre-broken-in but who cares in a youth model. He will outgrow it shortly anyway.

does this glove have deep pocket mr.baseball
This glove has a deep pocket and will be game ready. There will be no break in period needed with this glove.
KG
Does this glove have good padding? And can it be ordered a lefty glove? ballplayer
Yes, this glove has good padding and it can be ordered in a lefty glove
Sean
you list this mitt as a youth, mizuno lists it as a transitional size. my son is going to be 12 in 3 weeks i was thinking either this mitt or the GXC94, what would you suggest. he's not a huge 12, about 105lb. I wouls say mid sized. Joe
I think the GXC105 may be a good fit for your son. The GXC94 may be too big for him to maneuver.
Shelbe
My son just turned turned 9 years old! Would this be a good mit for him? irishdad1970
This Mizuno Prospect Series GXC105 Youth Model would be a great option for a 9 year old catcher.
Robb
My son is 8 yrs old. Would this glove be too big for his hand. He is 4ft 2in. Not real big hands. bowerjoe
The Mizuno Prospect Series: GXC105 Youth model would be a great fit for an 8 year old. Since it is a youth model, it will have a smaller wrist opening and more narrow finger stalls that will better fit a young persons hand.
Jennifer
My daughter will be 10 in June she is needing a catchers mitt. Just wondering if this one would be ok or will she need a bigger one to fit her for the next few years? Tara
A 32.5 inch mitt like this Mizuno Prospect, should fit a 10 year old until she reaches the age of 13 or so. She should be fine with this glove.
Tyler
My son is 10 and I want to know what size youth glove is best. tommy
Depending on the size of the player, we recommend a 31.50" to a 32.00" glove for his age.
Kara
Is this a softball mitt? jchoq
No. The Mizuno Prospect Series: GXC105 is a youth baseball catcher's mitt.
Tyler
My son is 12 years old. He is going into his last year of little league this Spring. Is this the right size glove for him? Doug
A 32.5" Youth Catcher's Mitt like the Mizuno Prospect Series: GXC105 is a great option for a 12 year old ballplayer.
Tyler
Will this glove fit right for 12 year old kid that will turn 13 this summer? Nebraska
Based on your position and age, we recommend a 32.00" size glove. The Mizuno Prospect Series GXC105 Youth Catcher's Mitt is a 32.50" glove. If the player is confident that they could fit the larger size, then it would be a great option.
Tessa L.
I have a 10 year old catcher, and he is a lefty. I'm not sure what size to get. Any ideas? sarah
Based on the player's age and position, I would suggest a 31.50". However, if his hand is a little larger, I think the Mizuno Prospect Series: (GXC105) would work well.
Merritt
I have a 9 year old, and he is left handed. What size should I get? Also, if it doesn't fit can we return it? Kirsten
Based on the player's age, I would suggest a 31". Therefore, depending on the size of the player's hand, the the Mizuno Prospect Series: (GXC105) Youth Catcher's Mitt might be a little bit big. However, we do have a 100 day glove guarantee policy. Therefore, you would be able to return the glove if it is uncomfortable or does not fit.
Merritt
Excellent glove, but is it a softball or baseball mitt? LV
The Mizuno Prospect Series (GXC105) Youth Catcher's Mitt is designed for baseball.
Jason
I have an 11 year old boy and I am looking for the right size catchers glove? sal
Typically, an 11 year old player is using a 32" pr 32.50" pattern. The Mizuno Prospect Series (GXC105) Youth Catcher's Mitt has a 32.50" pattern and is a great catchers mitt for an 11 year old.
Jason
Did this glove replace the GXC100A? What are the main differences? Davinator
The Mizuno Prospect Series (GXC105) Youth Catcher's Mitt has a slightly different web pattern and is a 32.50 inch model compared to the GXC100, which is a 32.00 inch model.
Tom
I am 10 years old, is this a good glove for me? jay
The Mizuno Prospect Series (GXC105 Youth Catcher's Mitt) is a youth model and would fit well for a 10 year old.
Frankie
My son will be playing his first year of travelling baseball and has caught before. He is big for his age, 11 years old, 5'2" and 125 pounds. He has small adult hands. I think his fielders glove is 11 or 11.5 inches. Would it be better to get a 33" size catchers mitt? becky
The Mizuno Prospect Series GXC105 would be a great option for a player with his build. We would recommend a glove between 32" and 33" in size.
John
I have a 10 year old daughter who is looking for a catcher's mitt. What do you suggest? Mo
This Mizuno Prospect Series (GXC105 Youth Catcher's Mitt) should probably work for use by your 10 year old fastpitch player. This glove is actually designed for use as a youth baseball mitt, but I think the tighter youth fitting and the 32.50" circumference will suffice for use by a fastpitch player of your daughter's age.
Ben
My son is 8. Would this be too big for him? jim
The Mizuno Prospect Series: GXC105 Youth Catcher's Mitt works for most Youth catchers, so it should work just as well for an 8 year old player.
Marcus
Will this work for a 13 year old boy? bman
If the 13 year old has small hands the Mizuno Prospect Series (GXC105) Youth Catcher's Mitt might be a great option. However, if his hand size is closer to an adults hand size, I would not recommend a youth glove. I would check out the Mizuno Franchise Baseball Series Catchers Mitt (GXC90B1).
Carter
What is the difference between the GXC105 and the GXC105D2? D
The main difference between the Mizuno Prospect Series: GXC105 Youth Catcher's Mitt and the GXC105D2 is just the colorway associated with each glove. Each glove offers similar quality of materials, along with the ParaShock palm pad and power close technology.
Logan
My son is 12 and has been using this glove a couple years. What is a step up for him going into 13 and 14u ball? GT
The Mizuno Prospect Series: GXC105 Youth Catcher's Mitt is made with a younger player in mind. Therefore, the 2017 Mizuno Franchise 33.5" Catcher's Mitt: GXC90B2 would be a perfect natural progression in gloves. The Mizuno Franchise will be a slightly larger glove but will still provide the same ParaShock Palm Pad that the Prospect does.
Tyler
What velocity is this glove rated to handle? matt
Although the Mizuno Prospect Series Youth Catcher's Mitt: GXC105 does not have a velocity rating we would recommend using this mitt for pitchers that are throwing 60 MPH or less as this mitt is essentially designed for players around 10 years of age.
Cameron
Does the glove come game ready or do you need to break it in? Dave Rumbaugh
The Mizuno Prospect Series Youth Catcher's Mitt: GXC105 will come with very little break in required. Many players would consider it game ready.
Logan
My son is 11 yr old. I was considering this glove or something a little bigger, but not sure. He's about 5'3" and 130 lbs. This glove or would you suggest another? Jeff
If he has smaller hands and can still use a Youth model, this Mizuno Prospect GXC105 would be a nice option. If you are looking for an adult sized glove for him to grow into, I would take a look at the mitts All Star has available.
