The Global Elite series has become one of Mizuno's most popular Pro Level glove lines. With the VOP series of Global Elite gloves, Mizuno has outdone themselves again. VOP stands for Vibration Oil Process. This is unique conditioning treatment that creates soft, yet extremely durable leather. This conditioning process entails each component of the glove to be hand-oiled with Mizuno's Strong Oil Elite. All Global Elite VOP gloves are made with the highest quality American steerhide that is Japanese tanned to create a perfect feeling leather. Every Global Elite has a new Roll Welting to increase structure and support throughout the fingers. With a lightweight feel and extra structural support, these gloves are quick to the ball and will retain their shape for years to come. Each Mizuno baseball glove is handcrafted to the highest quality control standards. All of Mizuno's glove craftsmen have been through a rigorous certification process overseen by Master Craftsmen Kosaku Kishumoto (fielder's gloves) and Kuni Nakamura (mitts) who together have over 65 years of experience making ball gloves. add_circle_outlinePros: This is a great glove for a pitcher or third baseman. Top of the line leather without the large price tag. Expect to put in a little work to break it in, but in my personal opinion, that's what makes a glove truly your own. In my experience, gloves that break in too easily tend to get quite floppy rather quickly.

Have a question about the Mizuno Global Elite VOP Series: GGE51VBK? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Can this glove be steamed?
We do not recommend steaming the gloves we sell like the Mizuno Global Elite VOP Series (GGE51VBK) because the extreme heat and moisture can cause damage to the glove.
Is there a difference between this glove and the Mizuno Global Elite VOP Series (GGE11VBK) besides the webbing? Also, I'm a 16 year old pitcher and third baseman. Would this be a good glove for me?
The web style is different, but the pattern size is also different between the Mizuno Global Elite VOP Series (GGE51VBK) and (GGE11VBK). The (GE11VBK) is 12.00" while this (GGE51VBK) is 11.75". Ultimately, it depends on the design you prefer. But I would suggest this (GGE51VBK) if you are playing third and pitching with the same glove.
For a high quality infield glove that I can find ( on sale or not ) for under $200, what would be your reccomendation?
The Mizuno Global Elite VOP Series (GGE51VBK) would be a great selection for an infield model at a lesser price. It will feature a size of 11.75".
Is the Deep 3 I-Web worth 25 dollars over the Tartan Shock?
The web style you choose really comes down to personal preference. I would say that the I-Web is more popular for an infielder than the Tartan Shock Web. But if the player also pitches, the Tartan Shock Web would provide a closed design to help hide your pitch selection.
Does this glove run true to size? I bought a 12" Mizuno 3 years ago and it "broke in" more like an 11.75". Will this do the same?
Based on the feedback we have received on the Mizuno Global Elite VOP Series (GGE51VBK), this glove will run true to the listed size, even after it has been broken in.
My 12 yo son has been using power close gloves the past few years. Would this be a good step up since the ball moving a lot faster at this age?
This Mizuno Global Elite VOP Series (GGE51VBK) is designed for use by a player with more of an adult sized hand that is playing on the infield. If you feel that your player is ready to make the transition up to more of an adult style mitt, then this mitt would be a good option for starting to make that transition. Even if you got the glove and used it, you would still be covered by the 100 day guarantee. That guarantee allows a player to get a glove and use it and if you decide against the glove within 100 days from the purchase date, you can always return to us for a full refund or exchange.
Is this glove a softball fastpitch glove or a baseball glove?
The Mizuno Global Elite VOP Series: GGE51VBK is going to be a baseball glove. Some of these models because of the deep pocket could potentially be used for softball.
What's the difference between this glove and the global elite jinama leather?
The Mizuno Global Elite VOP Series: GGE51VBK features the palm liner. The Mizuno Global Elite Jinama Baseball Glove 11.5 feature the Jinama leather which is rugged, rich, Japanese leather for extreme durability.
My 15 yr old is 6’8” and has a huge hand to match. Bigger than johnny bench’s if you are old enough for that comparison. Looking for a good inside of the glove fit for him, any suggestions? We need a pitcher’s glove and an outfielders glove both.
The Mizuno Global Elite VOP Series: GGE51VBK does feature a large opening fit and an adult design. It would be hard to say if it would fit your player specifically but we do have a 100 day guarantee so that he could try it out for up to 100 days and see if it works for him. This is a great option for a pitchers glove but would be a little small as a full time outfielders glove. The Mizuno Global Elite Series Royal/Cream: GGE73 would be a great option for an outfielders glove.
