DoublePlay

Pros: High quality youth catchers mitt. Glove is heavier than other brands; requires more break-in time. My 10 year old loved the glove once the glove started to break-in. Reccomend glove for 10-12 year olds.

Bob

Pros: Elite quality at a lower price. I bought this glove for my 10 year old son after recommendations that All-Star was "the" mitt to get. I then called All-Star and talked with Brad. Brad absolutely knows his stuff and answered every question that I had in regards to the glove. My main difficulty was not being able to have my son put his hand in the glove and Brad recommended Just Ball Gloves as the perfect place to purchase the mitt. We did and haven't been disappointed. For a mid/upper mid-range mitt, it is absolutely amazing. The quality of the leather is outstanding and I know people mention the break in time. For the sturdiness and quality of the leather, it really isn't bad. Comparable mitts in this price range and up take longer than it took this mitt to break in. The pocket is wonderful and the 31.5" size is perfect for a younger child to be able to find the ball and get it out of his mitt quickly.

I am buying the catcher's mitt for my grandson. I would like to have his name engraved on the glove. Is that possible? Alex
Unfortunately, we do not have the capabilities to embroider or engrave gloves.
TJ
Is this glove too small for my son? He is 11. sxdrcftvgybnjkml
No, this is an average size for that age.
KG
I'm 13 should I get this glove for my high school season? Eli
We recommend a 31.50 to a 32.00 depending on the size of your hand. If you prefer the smaller size then this would work perfect.
Kara
I'm 13 is this the correct size glove I should get? Aidan
Based off our Glove Coach, the All Star Pro Series: CM1100PRO Catcher's Mitt would be a good size glove for you. Here is a link to our Glove Coach that can be used as a guideline to help you choose the right size glove. http://www.justballgloves.com/glove-coach/
John
We are currently using a Mizuno GXO104 (not sure what size / inches it is). My son is 8 1/2 would the All Star Pro CM1100PRO be the next size up (31.5")? Do you think this will fit my son? He is same size as 9-10 year old kid. Earnie
Yes, the All Star Pro Series: CM1100PRO Catcher's Mitt should fit your son. This glove is only currently offered in a right hand thrower. This 31.50" Circumference Mitt will have an extended pocket and feature Japanese Tanned US Steer hide. It will come Pre-Oiled Treated and also have a Padded Wrist Guard. This youth design will provide a Velco Back for ample adjustment to any youth wrist size. This mitt would be an excellent choice.
Brandon
My average sized 9 year old has been using the All Star Young Pro Series: CM1010BT for the last 2 seasons with good results. Its been perfect for his 9U select team. Now he's starting to catch 12 year old pitchers on his Little League team and needs a more substantial mitt. Does the All Star Pro Series: CM1100 have a little more padding? Will it last 2 or 3 seasons given reasonable care? NW_Baseball
The All Star Pro Series: CM1100PRO Catcher's Mitt will be a higher quality of glove than the All Star Young Pro Series: CM101BT. It will be very durable and has great padding.
Kara
My son is turning 12 and is 5' 100 lbs. Is this a good size? bill
The All Star Pro Series: CM1100PRO Catcher's Mitt might be slightly small for your son at 31.50". We recommend a 32" for a 12 year old catcher.
Katie
I am looking for a new catchers glove for my son. He has a small frame and weighs about 85 lbs. He plays at major level in travel ball, and will be 12 in March. What gloves do you recommend? Coach
The All Star Pro Series: CM1100PRO Catcher's Mitt may be a bit small for a twelve year old at 31.50". Our Glove Coach recommends a 32.00" to 32.50" model.
Aubrey
My son is 8.5 years old and plays year round. Most of that time it is on two teams. He is primarily a catcher. He is well above average for his age at his position. He had issues with dropping the ball a lot while using a Mizuno glove. We switched to a Akadema Rookie Series: ADS90-12 Youth Catcher's Mitt and it has help tremendously. Only problem is that this glove is starting to break down already. The leather just isn't holding up. In fact it is flaking in many places. I wanted to try something that might last long that offered a comparable pocket size. How will this glove compare to the Akadema? Brian
The All Star Pro Series (CM1100PRO) uses a higher quality of leather than the Akadema. It will be more durable, but will still be easy to break-in. It has a similar pocket size as the Akadema.
Kara
Is this like the All Star Pro Elite but in a smaller size? chubs
Yes, the All Star Pro Series (CM1100PRO Catcher's Mitt) will be very similar to the Elite Series. This youth mitt will also come pre-oiled for a quicker break-in period.
Brandon
I am thinking about getting this glove. I am 12 years old, but I want to use it in high school too. Is this a good choice? dude
The All Star Pro Series (CM1100PRO Catcher's Mitt) is an ideal youth catcher's mitt. It features a 31.50 inch pattern as well as a pre-oiled premium steerhide leather that will result in an easy glove break-in. The youth pattern will have a smaller wrist opening and finger stalls than an adult model. IF you have fairly large hands, you might want to consider the All Star Pro Elite Series (CM3000XSBT Catcher's Mitt) which will have an adult male sized pattern.
Joe
My son is 10 years old and catches. He currently has a Mizuno prospect GXC105 and is ready for a replacement. How does this glove compare? Picasso
The All Star Pro Series (CM1100PRO) Catcher's Mitt is designed for a youth player with smaller finger stalls and hand openings. Additionally, it does feature a high end Japanese tanned leather which will enhance the overall durability, as well as provide a quick break in time. This glove is definitely an improvement over the Mizuno GXC105, and he shouldn't experience any issues with dropping a half inch in the circumference of the mitt.
Joe
What is a high end catcher's mitt that has a very soft and padded interior like the Mizuno Global Elite but is easy to find on sale for around $150? Do this mitt or the Louisville Slugger Katsu mitts meet all criteria besides for price? Curious George
The All Star Pro Series (CM1100PRO) or the Louisville Slugger Katsu Series (FGKTBK5-CTM1) are both nicely padded options. The All Star Pro Series (CM3100SBT) is a nice option that is currently on sale in the range you are looking for.
Patrick
I just got this glove for Christmas and I never specifically got a type of leather. Can someone specify the type of leather on this glove. Taylor
The All Star Pro Series: CM1100PRO Youth Catcher's Mitt is made with Japanese Tanned U.S. Steerhide.
Linsey
Why is this glove out of stock everywhere? And it's not on All-Star's website. Is it discontinued? Ryan
The All Star Pro Series (CM1100PRO) Youth Catcher's Mitt is not a discontinued glove and it is just going to be temporarily out of stock. We hope to receive more soon.
Carter
Is the wrist pad removable? How does the leather quality and fit compare to the Rawlings GCM325BT? Dad K
The wrist pad is not removable. The leather will be more stiff on the All Star Pro Series (CM1100PRO Youth Catcher's Mitt) as well as a little heavier.
Mick
Why is this glove so much cheaper than the 400.00 one? hb
The All Star Pro Series Youth Catcher's Mitt: CM1100PRO is a youth model and thus will not feature the same padding qualities as that in a All Star Pro Elite Series catcher's mitt. As well, the leather quality used in the All Star Pro Elite Series catcher's mitt will be of All Star's highest quality thus allowing the mitt to retain its form over time longer.
Cameron
It shows in the images the word professional in red on the side and I was wondering if that came on the real glove that I buy? travel ball catcher
Yes, the All Star Pro Series Youth Catcher's Mitt: CM1100PRO will come with Professional on the side.
Tori
My son is 13, small hands. He currently plays travel ball and jr high ball. Do you recommend this glove or the travel player version? I am more interested in the glove with quicker break in. Brian Hannula
Catcher's mitts will always take a bit longer to break in than a normal glove due to the extra padding. But, if he does have smaller hands and you want a quicker break in, this would be good option to consider. He may outgrow it fairly quickly though, as it is a Youth model.
Kyle
Will this glove fit my 10 yr old, 65 lb son? Josh
The All Star Pro Series Youth Catcher's Mitt: CM1100PRO would work well for a 10 year old player.
Cameron
When do you anticipate getting more of these in? John Caputo
We hope to have more of the All Star Pro 31.5" Youth Catcher's Mitt: CM1100PRO in around 11/15.
Cameron
What is the difference between the all star pro 31.5" and the all star pro elite 31.5"? Mark
This link will show a comparison of the two, they are very similar. https://www.justballgloves.com/compare/?pids=9157|30951
