Pros: Best catchers mit my son has ever used. Great quality mitt. The all black color looks awesome. My son had thumb issues with other mitts but this one has better protection and design. This is our 3rd All Star mitt as he refuses to use anything else.

Cons: None

FMINUS

Pros: OMG, this glove is hands down the best glove on the market. That "pop" everyone keeps talking about is the same sound you get from a Rawlings Pro Preferred or Mizuno Pro Limited Kip. Its stiff, but it was ready to play catch with out of the box, I can see that it can be game ready quicker than a pro preferred or even HOH. In the description it says its "Japanese Tanned Leather", but it doesnt mention that it is MADE IN JAPAN as well. From what I understand that gloves made in Japan are all from one craftsman. They should really emphasize that to justify the higher price tag of this mitt. Bottom line, if you can afford it, you wont regret it.

Cons: Not a fan of the looks, even though its better looking than the tan version. Rawlings/Mizuno/Wilson Gloves look much nicer, but the quality and feel of this trumps that.

Top Quality BDS Player

Pros: Very strong black leather creates a loud pop in the pocket. Feels like mitt will last me multiple seasons unlike past catcher’s mitts. Black leather gives it a great look. Pro level mitt for sure.

Cons: Black leather was tougher to break in then any other mitt I’ve ever had. However, now that it is finally where I want it the process was definitely worth it. Glove is pricey but as I wrote above, I fully expect this mitt to last me a few seasons.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the All Star Pro Elite 33.5" Baseball Catcher's Mitt: CM3000SBK? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Does this glove feature a one-piece or a two-piece web? curiouscatcher
The All Star Pro Elite Series (CM3000BSBT Catcher's Mitt) will feature a two-piece web. It will also provide an extended pocket.
Brandon
How does this glove compare to the Rawlings Heart of the Hide Game Day Series: PROCM43BP28? curiouscatcher
The All Star Pro Elite Series (CM3000BSBT) Catcher's Mitt and the Rawlings Heart of the Hide Game Day Series (PROCM43BP28) Catcher's Mitt are both nice models. The All Star is going to have a higher quality leather but also have a stiffer overall feel and longer break-in period. The Heart of the Hide will be closer to game ready and retain shape well.
Patrick
Is this glove the same thing as the regular All Star (CM3000SBT) (black and tan one), but just in different colors? Finn
That's correct. Both the All Star Pro Elite Series (CM3000BSBT) Catcher's Mitt and (CM3000SBT) are 33.50" patterns and are made from the same Japanese Tanned Steer Hide.
Mac
How will this glove compare in stiffness to the All-Star CM3000BT? Will there be a notable difference due to the differently tanned leather or will it be the same/almost the same thing? curiouscatcher
The All Star Pro Elite Series: CM3000BT Catcher's Mitt and the All Star Pro Elite Series: CM3000BSBT Catcher's Mitt are the same mitt, other than color.
Damon
Is there a difference between this and the All Star Pro Elite Series (CM3000SBT Catcher's Mitt)? AS28
The only difference is the color in the All Star Pro Elite Series (CM3000BSBK Catcher's Mitt) and the All Star Pro Elite Series (CM3000SBT Catcher's Mitt).
Frankie
Will the gloves padding become soft quickly, or will it maintain its padding for a good amount of time? necc
The All Star Pro Elite Series (CM3000BSBK Catcher's Mitt) is designed to be very durable and hold up its padding for a good period of time.
Frankie
I've used the CM3000XSBT for a little over 3 years and I need a new mitt. Will the jump to just the SBT slow up my transfer time or will it not really affect it much? dag
The All Star Pro Elite Series (CM3000BSBK) Catcher's Mitt is actually made from the same high end Japanese Tanned Steer Hide as the All Star Pro Elite Series (CM3000XSBT) Catcher's Mitt, so the transfer time will be very comparable. Moving to this glove should not affect your transfer time by much after it is broken in.
Tessa
What is the difference between the CM3000BK and the CM3000BSBK? Sam
The CM3000BK is a 35.00" catcher's mitt while the All Star Pro Elite Series: CM3000BSBK Catcher's Mitt is a 33.50" catcher's mitt.
Marcus
I have read lots of reviews on this glove and it says it is stiffer than the CM3000SBT model. Why is it stiffer? Reagan16
This All Star Pro Elite Series (CM3000BSBK Catcher's Mitt) is made from the same leather as the CM3000SBT. Due to it's design, it should have the same stiffness as the CM3000SBT. However, you'll see that many individuals have different experiences with different models of gloves.
Ben
Is this glove lighter then a Rawlings Heart of the Hide catcher's mitt? Ryan Carey
The All Star Pro Elite Series: CM3000BSBK Catcher's Mitt will weigh in at about the same as a Rawlings Heart of the Hide model assuming both gloves are of the same length; any differences between the two will be 0.1-0.3 ounces.
Cameron
How long does it take to break-in? gavi
This All Star Pro Elite Series (CM3000BSBK Catcher's Mitt) will come with very high quality Japanese Tanned U.S. Steerhide. That leather is designed to break-in faster when compared to older All Star mitts, however, I still think that it will take a few weeks of extremely diligent work to get it broken-in and game-ready for use.
Ben
What actual size is this glove? Jhonny Prevem
The All Star Pro Elite Series (CM3000SBK) Catcher's Mitt features a 33.50 Inch Pattern.
Carter
How much does it weigh? john
The All Star Pro Elite Series: CM3000SBK Catcher's Mitt weighs approximately 700 g.
Logan
I love this glove, but I have lots of trouble looking online for the best way to break it in. I'm afraid I did it the wrong way. I have used Lexol conditioner which hasn't been bad, but I don't think the glove is shaped or closing the way it should be. Any suggestions? thesamoan
Unfortunately, every break-in goes a little differently and all players have different specifications for how they wish to break in a mitt. The best advice that we can really give for a break-in is to use the glove as much as possible (if you have a free moment when not at practice, try and work the leather with your hands as well). If you bought this All Star Pro Elite Series (CM3000SBK Catcher's Mitt) from JustBallGloves and it has been less than 100 days from the purchase, you could certainly return the mitt to us for a full refund or exchange. Please call us at 866-321-2287 if the purchase was indeed made from us (and it is under 100 days) and we can help organize the return.
Ben
How can I get wrinkles out of the leather from this glove? Also, did the wrinkles get there from over oiling? Allstar235
(1) From what I have experience, continued use of a mitt like this All Star Pro Elite Series (CM3000SBK Catcher's Mitt) is the best method for removing wrinkles from the palm of a mitt. (2) Unfortunately, I am not sure if over-oiling a glove could get the mitt to wrinkle in the palm. However, if you ordered the mitt from JustBallGloves and are not happy with it within 100 days from the purchase, you can always return the mitt to us for a full refund or exchange. Call 866-321-4568 if the mitt was purchased from us, it is under 100 days from the purchase date and you wish to return.
Ben
What's the best conditioner for this glove, and how many times a month should I condition it? allstar24
Any glove conditioner would work well for the All Star Pro Elite Series: CM3000SBK Catcher's Mitt, but I would just apply a light coat once every couple months.
Logan
What advantages does this glove give me as opposed to the A2000 and Heart of the Hide? g money
All these gloves are very similar with their features but what is a little different about the All Star Pro Elite Series is that the leather All Star uses will break in slightly faster than the Heart of the Hide and the A2000. Other than that all of these gloves would be a great option for your player.
Cade
Is this glove the same as the cm3000sbt just black? Justin
Yes the All Star Pro Elite Series: CM3000SBK Catcher's Mitt is the CM3000SBT just black
Max
What is the difference between the All Star CM3000XSBT & the CM3000SBT? Joe D
The only difference between the two is the size of the mitts. The CM3000XSBT is a 32" pattern while the CM3000SBT is a 33.5" pattern.
Kyle J.
You keep saying this glove is the same at the CM3000BT with the exception of the color, but the All Star website says this glove will be stiffer and more durable than the one with tan leather. Is this true? nate
On the All Star website, I have read that the following in regard to this All Star Pro Elite Series (CM3000SBK Catcher's Mitt): "compared to the original black and tan CM3000 series, this glove features the stiffer black leather on both the inside and outside of the glove". It appears that this black glove will be more stiff, but it would be hard to say it is going to be 100% more durable than the CM300BT.
Ben
What is the difference between the All Star catcher's mitt that is tan and white and the one that is all black? Cody
The All Star Pro Elite Series: CM3000SBK Catcher's Mitt and the All Star Pro Elite Series Baseball Catcher's Mitt: CM3000SBT are the same glove, made of the same Japanese tanned US steerhide, the only difference would be the color.
Logan
Would this glove be good for a 13 year old? Travis
This All Star Pro Elite Series (CM3000SBK Catcher's Mitt) will probably be a little large for use by a 13 year old player since it has a 33.5" circumference. We would usually recommend a 32" - 32.5" circumference mitt for a player that is 13 years old. Here is a 32" Pro Elite mitt to check out: All Star Pro Elite Series (CM3000XSBT Catcher's Mitt).
Ben
Is this size suitable for a 13 year old boy (about 145 lbs; he's not small)? Looking to purchase something that will last him into high school. Erin Melton
At the start, this All Star Pro Elite Series (CM3000SBK Catcher's Mitt) will probably be a little big in regard to circumference and hand fitting for a 13 year old player. However, if the goal were to get him something that could last for a number of years and he is okay with something that will be large to start, this mitt would be a fine mitt to purchase. It does have a 100 day guarantee as well. If you bought the mitt and used it, but decided within 100 days that it is not the glove for your player, the glove could be returned for a full refund or exchange at JustGloves.
Ben
Can it be personalized? Like Name? Myong Clement
At the time of this positing, the All Star Pro Elite Series: CM3000SBK Catcher's Mitt cannot be customized.
Daveron
Do you have any advice on how best to break in this glove? Greg
The All Star Pro Elite Series: CM3000SBK Catcher's Mitt is one of the best catcher's mitts on the market and will take some time, and patience, to get it game ready. Ideally speaking, using some glove oil/conditioner to help lather up the shell of the mitt and then playing catch is best. If not able to play catch during these times, or if unable to catch off of a pitching machine, it would be advisable to use a mallet like device to help soften up the mitt's leather shell.
Cameron
What is the 100 day love garintee like Hunter
Take the next 100 days to break-in, play catch, and even use in a game to determine if it really is the right glove for you. If it’s not, simply send it back to us and receive a FULL REFUND for the price of the glove.
Leeah
Is thier a restock fee if I don't like the glove in 100 days Hunter
No, there is no restock fee
