U.S. Steerhide Leather Construction (Palm and Web) with AkademaLyte Leather on Back to Reduce Weight
Youth Model - Narrow Hand Opening and Finger Stalls Create Optimal Fit for Smaller Hands
Description
Akadema is the most exciting baseball and softball company in the world. Their increasing market share can be attributed to their innovative quality and professionally designed product line. Focusing on the quality, feel and small details has lifted Akadema to the next level. With a goal to provide products for all ball players, Akadema has created the new Prodigy Youth Series. Constructed from U.S. Steerhide throughout the pocket and webbing, the Prodigy Series provides ideal toughness and padding. On the back of the glove, this series features the exclusive AkademaLyte leather that decreases the overall weight. This not only allows these gloves to be more easily playable, it also significantly decreases the break-in time to the point where these gloves are virtually game-ready out of the box. With the younger player in mind, Akadema slightly narrowed the finger stalls on these gloves to provide a more snug fit. Akadema: Bring Your "A Game"!
Warranty
Akadema gloves will come with a manufacturer’s warranty of nine (9) months from the purchase date. This warranty will cover ripping and tears of the leather of the glove. It will not include ripped laces -or- scuffing of the glove’s leather, binding or welting. If you feel that a warranty issue has arisen with your Akadema glove that was purchased from JustGloves and it has been 9 months or less since the purchase, please contact the Glove Experts from JustGloves. The Glove Experts are knowledgeable of the warranty processes and can help you get set up with directions for doing a warranty replacement with Akadema.

Cons:
pbuddy
Pros: Great glove, I've used this for 3 years plus a year of breaking in but it was definitely worth it. I am 12 years old and play most positions on my travel team and it gets the job done. I absolutely love this glove. BUY IT!!!!!
Cons: none
PowerT
Pros: Got this glove when my son was 11. He's a pitcher, but used it for 2nd base and center field. It took us about 4 months to break this glove in. Great quality leather, but takes a long time to break in. Would recommend, but keep in mind it takes a while to break in.
Cons: Divider between pinky and 4th finger starting to wear a hole. Thought this was odd, but can't send back due to over 1 year in use.

Pros: Awesome glove! I use it to play middle infield and it's one of the most comfortable gloves I've ever had!
Cons: None.

Pros: Leather is soft, very easy to break in. Top notch glove for the price. My 7 year old should be using this glove until his hand outgrows the finger holes.
Cons: Akadema Logo on the thumb was not solid had lots of flaking.
Will
Pros: The glove seems to be constructed well with quality components on the outside. How it holds up and breaks-in is TBD. Only have had it a few days. Compared to other youth models it seems to be middle of the road quality.
Cons: Inside materials seem to be lesser quality and synthetic. subjective con for me is the country of origin. Disappointed the glove was made in China, which also suggests the mark-up must my huge.
Will
Pros: Glove is constructed using quality components on the exterior. Lesser quality synthetic components are used on the inside. This glove is a decent middle-of-the-road quality glove.
Cons: Made in China, so the markup must be significant.
Cube
Pros: Easy to break in, fit perfect for a 9 year old. Leather is soft.
Cons: He has played with this glove 1 year and it is breaking down already. Leather is super soft for break in but longevity is questionable. It is already time for a new glove.
Hokie Baseball
Pros: I really love this glove. Was looking to find that sweet spot between my son's entry level $35 Rawlings 10" Savage and a high end $200 Nokona/Rawlings/Wilson/Mizuno mitt. To me this glove nails it for just under $100. If your son or daughter is like mine they are still playing all over the field and this glove is the perfect utility glove. My son plays literally every position between his AAA house team and his 9U travel team and this glove has never let him down. I highly recommend it to those looking for a quality utility glove at a very reasonable price.
Cons: It's hard to come up with a con for this glove. I supposed it took a bit to break it in but that is to be expected when stepping up to a higher quality mitt. My only real grievance, and this is nitpicking, is that the some of the laces are excessively long and/or not tied very well. Again very minor and easily corrected. Certainly not a reason to shy away from this mitt.
Akadema 11U Coach
Pros: Great glove, excellent quality leather. This is my son's 3rd season with this glove and it is still in great shape. It takes a little while to break this glove in but that is expected with good leather. Would buy it again.
Cons: None to date
Great Quality glove Ryan coach
Pros: Good, stiff leather. Looks great.
Cons: none so far, this glove is going to take time to break in. Do not expect it to be game ready anytime soon, this is due to the quality of the leather.
love it so far Richard Liehr parent
Pros: It took a few weeks to break in but i think it will be well worth it. I've been getting my 8 year old son cheap gloves that he could glove easy but the would never last.
Cons: took a while to break in.
Great Cassandra Parent
Pros: Fast break in
Cons: None

About the Brand
In Akadema's short but remarkable history it has become one of America's hottest baseball and softball equipment company for professional, college, high school, and serious youth players. The Akadema phenomenon started with the Professional Glove Series and continues with the Reptilian®, Praying Mantis®, Pro Soft™ and Prodigy™ Glove Series as well as the Amish Wood™, Tacktion™ and Xtension® Aluminum Bat Series. Akadema's products are manufactured for professional players but are now accessible to semi pro, college, high school, and serious youth players. Akadema products are still designed with the professional player in mind but competitively priced for the professional player at heart. So it's your turn to think like a professional, play like a professional, and use Akadema Professional!
Akadema now has both baseball and fastpitch softball advisory staffs that they work with closely to implement new ideas. Members of the baseball advisory staff include Hall of Famers Ozzie Smith and Gary Carter as well as Howard Johnson, Reggie Smith, Luis Polonia, Sandy Martinez and many others. Fastpitch stars that are on the advisory staff include Crystl Bustos and Julie Smith. The input on performance from the advisory staff gives Akadema something they cannot put a price on. Their advisors don’t talk about marketing or places to sell the gloves, they just care about performance.
