Pros: You need to get this glove. Best glove in the game

Cons: I swear there are no cons to this glove because the price is so good and it can be used for infield and outfield. It also holds its body for a long time with good pocket

Pros: Leather quality is better than most gloves in this price range Stitching is top rate Webbing is a good compromise choice This glove looks sharp!

Cons: Sizing seems slightly smaller than advertised - 11.50 feels more like an 11 Finger hole leather "feels" like a lesser quality leather than the outside of glove - a minor knock

Slimedart

Pros: Perfect glove for my 9 year old (He's a big 9 year old though). This is his first glove upgrade. took a day or two to be game ready. The glove has increased his confidence and made him better at catching the ball. Hold form well so far.

Cons: No palm padding or padding for pointer finger like the Rawlings Gold Glove series.

Best glove ever!! ericgrannis9 player

Pros: The glove has a super soft feel. It feels great when receiving and ground ball. I have not had any problems with mine. I play college ball, and coach two little league teams. I basically use my glove everyday of the week. It is by far the best glove I have ever bought. I wont buy any glove besides Akadema now!

Cons: Not a songle one!!

honest review Zack Andrukonis player

Pros: very soft leather easy to form a pocket. Ive been working with the glove for about 3 weeks breaking it in already have shaped and form the pocket to how i like. also the the leather is a little bit more thin so you have great feel for the ball. for 100$ bucks its good glove. ill come back with a review in a year. age(20)

Cons: since the leather is thin if you catch a heater youre likely to feel it. i had one problem with the stitching on the heel of the glove. the tag end on the side of the pinkey that gets tucked in came out. not any reason to send it back a simple fix. note it came out when i was working in the glove.

Janthonywes

Pros: Good quality glove, put together well.

Cons: The 11.5 glove is NOT an 11.5 glove. Its lucky if it is an 11. Very small. Also not as soft and game ready out of the box as some have suggested. If you are worried about size you MUST opt for the larger size.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Akadema ProSoft 11.5" Baseball Glove: AMV218? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Is it easy to break in? Because it doesn't look like it is? zac
The Akadema AMV218 is made with a fairly soft leather. It will be pretty easy to break-in. I would give it a day of playing catch before it feels nice and broken-in.
Tyler
Would this glove be a suitable size for a 8 year old ball player? Kelly
The Akadema Pro Soft Series AMV218 is constructed for older infielders and may be too big for an 8-year-old ball player.
Shelbe
Does this glove come steamed? jjmbaseball
If you wanted the glove softened before it was shipped, you could pay a little extra for our Trusted Glove Prep program. Trusted Glove Prep will employ the steaming method to soften the leather on the glove.
Tom
Is it good for 12 year old? kocj1221
The Akadema Pro Soft Series should fit well on a twelve-year-old hand.
Kara
Which glove would be recommended for third base, this glove or the AFL 211? I like the funnel idea but I'm afraid it weakens the glove. Which would you recommend? Andrew
Both are made from the same quality of leather and will have the same break-in time and durability. The funnel feature on the AFL211 holds up very well for a larger catching area. If you prefer a traditional glove without the funnel feature, the AMV218 would be recommended.
Tyler
I just ordered this glove, do you think it will be good for pitchers? Panda
Yes, the Akadema Pro Soft Series: AMV218 could work for a pitcher if you wanted to use it on the mound.
Frank
Would this be too small for a 13 year old? annon
The Akadema Pro Soft Series: AMV218 will be an 11.50" model. This will be an average size for a 13 year old middle infielder or third baseman.
Brandon
I play outfield and 2nd base. Is 11.50" too small to be used for both positions? cmount
The Akadema Pro Soft Series: AMV218 is intended for infield use. We wouldn't make it our first recommendation for outfield, but if you really wanted, you could use it there.
Katie
Is this glove suitable for a 14 year old? Aidan
The Akadema Pro Soft Series: AMV218 would be a great choice for a 14-year-old baseball player.
Noah
Is this glove have a short break-in time? Also, what is the difference between this glove and the Torino series glove that looks very alike to this glove? Aidan
The Akadema Pro Soft Series: AMV218 features a softer feel and will require minimal break-in time. The Akadema Torino ARO18 features a similar web-style and pattern size but contains higher-quality leather for increased durability.
Mac
I just wanted to know does this have good padding or bad padding? Jdjdmmjmz
The Akadema Pro Soft Series: AMV218 has very good padding. But maybe a little thinner than what is seen on slightly higher quality gloves.
Kara
Where is this glove made? ty
The Akadema Pro Soft Series: AMV218 is made in China.
John H
Can this glove be used/sized for a 9-10 year old? If not, what is an equivalent youth glove that is good soft leather and lightweight? PlayerDad
The Akadema Pro Soft Series (AMV218) is more of an adult glove and not recommended for that age. We recommend the Akadema Prodigy Series (ATM92-12) Youth.
Kara
Will this glove be a great fit for a high school player that plays short stop and pitcher? G.D
The Akadema Pro Soft Series (AMV218) glove would be a workable option for a short stop and pitcher.
Patrick
Do Akadema gloves run smaller or true to their size? I hear the the infield gloves run smaller. mute hitter
The information we have indicates that Akadema gloves like the Akadema Pro Soft Series (AMV218) will be true to size from the tip of the index finger to the heal of the glove.
Patrick
Do you sell an 11.75 inch model? Carter
We do not currently have an 11.75 inch model of the Akadema Pro Soft Series (AMV218) available.
Patrick
Would the Modified T Web web be good for third base? jman
The Modified T Web, like the one on the Akadema Pro Soft (AMV218), is a great option for third base play.
Sean
My boys have older Akadema models. One of the best features is the thickness of the hides. Is the Pro Soft Series thin? Frank
The Akadema Pro Soft Series (AMV218) will feature similar high quality leather. The leather may be a bit thinner to save weight and make it softer out of the box but the durability should be very similar to the models you have had in the past.
Patrick
My son is 11 and plays mostly infield and some outfield. He's 5' tall and is currently using an 11.50" youth glove. Will this glove be too large for him? Coach T
The Akadema Pro Soft Series (AMV218) does feature an 11.50 inch pattern which is typically used by middle infielders. In terms of sizing, the finger stalls and wrist opening will be slightly too small for an adult male to fit their hand inside. It is noticeably larger than a youth model, and should be a good transitional glove for your son.
Joe
I'm 15 and play high school baseball. Will this glove suit me for an 11.50" adult? andresromero
The Akadema Pro Soft Series (AMV218) will be a great option for a player in high school that plays infield.
John
I am 11 and I am looking for a glove that has the same pocket do you think that this is good for a pitcher or should I go with a different web? Tank
The Akadema Pro Soft Series (AMV218) could be used with success by a pitcher of your age. I would not think a different pocket style would necessarily be better.
Patrick
I am 13 and 5'6" and I play 3rd base and pitcher. Would the size of this glove be okay for me? jake
The Akadema Pro Soft Series (AMV218) would be an excellent option. The Modified T web would be good enough to cover the ball when you are pitching.
Jake
I'm 15 years sold and this is my first year of baseball as a infielder. Would this be a good choice glove for the price? newKid
Yes, the Akadema Pro Soft Series (AMV218) is a great option for a high school infielder.
John
Is this a good glove for a shortstop and pitcher? Also, the intended use is for a 13 year old who is an experienced player. Bill
The Akadema Pro Soft Series: AMV218 is an infield specific pattern and may be used by both a shortstop and a pitcher.
John P.
Can I use this glove for outfield as well? i.rod_27
The Akadema Pro Soft Series: AMV218 features an 11.50" pattern and is typically best suited for an infielder. However, it can be used for the outfield as well if you really wanted it to be used there.
Jason
Would this glove be too big for my 10 year old? He has a youth Akadema glove now that is getting a little small. Joe
Typically, for a 10 year old, I would recommend a glove with an 11.00 inch pattern. The Akadema Pro Soft Series: AMV218 features an 11.50 inch pattern and more of an adult fit so it may be a tad too large for your player.
John P.
Will this fit an adult? Stevie
The Akadema Pro Soft Series: AMV218 would be a good fit for an adult who plays middle infield.
Cameron
Will this work for softball? Joey Kennedy
This Akadema Pro Soft Series (AMV218) will have an 11.5" length to it, a pocket that is more built for baseball and also an adult male fitting. That being said, I think that this mitt would still work for a 12" softball if you were wanting something with a shorter length that will allow for a quick transfer time from glove to hand.
Ben
Would this glove's pocket be a little too deep for a middle infielder? Johnny
No, the Akadema Pro Soft Series: AMV218 pocket is not too deep for a middle infielder. It is designed for middle infielders and is just deep enough where the ball will stay in there firmly but not too deep where it would be hard to turn double plays and get the ball out quickly.
Carter
I'm going to turn 12 next month, and I play travel baseball. Is this glove a good, all-around glove? ryry
I would recommend the Akadema Pro Soft Series: AMV218 model for anyone playing on the infield. The 11.50" pattern would suit a pitcher or infielder quite well. It may be a little small for outfield use. If you wanted a glove to cover the infield and the outfield, I would look for a 12-inch or 12.25-inch glove.
Kyle J.
I am a 13 year old primary center fielder and shortstop would this glove be good for both positions? ricky racardo
The Akadema Pro Soft Series: AMV218 is going to be a bit small for the outfield. i would look at getting a 12" or 12.25" glove to fit both outfield and infield positions.
Max
I'm a 15 year old high school 3B. Is this a good choice, or do you recommend other glove choices? ayy
This Akadema Pro Soft Series (AMV218) will come with an 11.50" length to it. Typically, the 11.50" length will work just fine for a high school 3B baseball player (some 3B will prefer a slightly longer 11.75" length as well).
Ben
I want to know if this is a good glove for a 12 year old player? Roric Daddy
The Akadema Pro Soft Series: AMV218 is a 11.50 inch pattern and is a great option to use for a 12 year old player.
Cameron
I have an 8 year old who plays on a 10U team. He is a high level player, but smaller in size. He is a shortstop and pitcher. What do you think about this glove (11.5") for him? Lil Kole
This Akadema Pro Soft Series (AMV218) will feature an 11.5" length and more of an adult fitting to it. It would be too large for use for your 8 year old due to that fitting. However, if you got an 11.5" mitt with a youth hand fitting, a glove like that should work for your player. A mitt I would suggest looking at is the Akadema Prodigy Series (ATM92-12 Youth).
Ben
I am a 15 year old and I play shortstop. Is the Akadema Pro Soft series a good glove? zach
The Akadema Pro Soft Series will be a nice, mid-tier quality glove that will break in relatively quickly and perform well, but may not have the lifespan of some of the more expensive, higher-tier models out there.
Kyle J.
I would rather have this glove in size 11.75. Is this offered? Plus, I would like to have my name embroidered on it. Is this doable? Jay Keeton
Unfortunately we do not offer embroidering on the Akadema Pro Soft Series: AMV218. As for the 11.75 inch size, this glove is not offered in that size.
Cameron
How do I know what size this glove is? P
The Akadema Pro Soft Series (AMV218) is a 11.5" length.
John
Is this big enough for a college pitcher 6'1"? Bryan Beck
You would probably want to use a larger model like a 12" size.
Kyle
Is it a leather lining in the palm and finger stalls or synthetic? Neal
This Akadema Pro Soft Series: AMV218 is constructed from select steerhide leather, it will not be synthetic.
Ryan
Is there a palm pad? Tony
The palm pad lining built into the Akadema Pro Soft 11.5" Baseball Glove: AMV218 will be minimal.
Cameron
Is this glove a good fit for a 14 year old? And does it break in fast? Patrick Thompson
The Akadema ProSoft 11.5" Baseball Glove: AMV218 is a good option for a 14 year old infielder and would not require much in the way of a break-in period.

About the Brand

In Akadema's short but remarkable history it has become one of America's hottest baseball and softball equipment company for professional, college, high school, and serious youth players. The Akadema phenomenon started with the Professional Glove Series and continues with the Reptilian®, Praying Mantis®, Pro Soft™ and Prodigy™ Glove Series as well as the Amish Wood™, Tacktion™ and Xtension® Aluminum Bat Series. Akadema's ownership attributes increasing market share to their innovative professional baseball and softball product line in contrast to mass-produced products that have little to do with quality, feel, or design to raise the level of play.

Akadema's products are manufactured for professional players but are now accessible to semi pro, college, high school, and serious youth players. Akadema products are still designed with the professional player in mind but competitively priced for the professional player at heart. So it's your turn to think like a professional, play like a professional, and use Akadema Professional!

Akadema now has both baseball and fastpitch softball advisory staffs that they work with closely to implement new ideas. Members of the baseball advisory staff include Hall of Famers Ozzie Smith and Gary Carter as well as Howard Johnson, Reggie Smith, Luis Polonia, Sandy Martinez and many others. Fastpitch stars that are on the advisory staff include Crystl Bustos and Julie Smith. The input on performance from the advisory staff gives Akadema something they cannot put a price on. Their advisors don’t talk about marketing or places to sell the gloves, they just care about performance.
