Best A2000 for small infielder John B. Coach

Pros: - Very small profile. My 12 year old is very small for his age. About 4’7” and 65lbs and it fit his hand without any problem at all. An adult hand would be hard pressed to fit in the glove from the factory without adjustment. - Broke in very quickly for an A2000. I worked on the break points for about 30 min on the first night we got it with an 8 pound weight and an ball club. It was nearly game ready on the first day we got it. - All of the usual awesome parts of an A2000. Quality leather, amazing look, great form from the factory. The ball pretty much can’t help but find the pocket.

Cons: None so far

Pros: My son plays middle infield and he loves it. It fits his hand perfectly. It took a little bit to break in but it’s lasted 2 years so far.

Cons: Laces aren’t the best.

My son just turned 13. He plays second base. Could he use this size glove through high school? Or do you recommend a bigger glove once they get to high school? mano
Your son would definitely be able to play second with the 2018 Wilson A2000 11.25" Baseball Glove (WTA20RB18PF88) through high school, as the 11.25" size is made with middle infielders in mind and the Pro Stock Leather provides a long lifespan for the integrity of the glove.

Is this a Pedroia fit? I got my 10 yr old the black DP size 11.5 and wondering if I should have gone with 11.25. david
The 2018 Wilson A2000 11.25" Baseball Glove: WTA20RB18PF88 does offer the Pedroia fit. As for what size to get a player that is 10 years old, one could go in either direction as far as 11.25 or 11.50. Ultimately it comes down to what size the player feels more comfortable and confident with.
Cameron
What is the weight difference between this glove and the 11.25" model with Superskin? Mark
The exact difference will vary from model to model, but a rough estimate would probably put the SuperSkin model anywhere from 2-3 oz lighter.

My son is 9 years old with smaller hand/fingers. Would this Pedroia fit model still be too big? My concern is that it will fall off his hand due to his smaller wrist as well. Rich
The 2018 Wilson A2000 Pedroia Fit 11.25" Baseball Glove: WTA20RB18PF88 might be a bit small for a 9 year old with smaller hand and possibly could fall off his hand. I would take a look at the A1K models or if you would like to try it out using our 100 day love your glove guarantee to ensure for the correct fit.
Max

The 2018 Wilson A2000 Pedroia Fit 11.25" Baseball Glove: WTA20RB18PF88 is of great quality and we are happy that it worked for your two sons.

What about this glove for a 3rd baseman? If not this one, what is your recommendation? Pat Cagle
Generally, an 11.25 inch glove, such as the 2018 Wilson A2000 Pedroia Fit 11.25" Baseball Glove: WTA20RB18PF88, is a bit small for use at third base. For middle school aged players and older, most third basemen will wear a glove from 11.75" to 12.25" in size. If you want the Pedroia fit, I would look at the 2018 Wilson A2000 11.75" Dustin Pedroia Baseball Glove: WTA20RB18DP15GM.
Logan
Aside from price, how does the A2000 Pedroia compare to the A1000 Pedroia in stiffness, feel, and break in period? Are both equally suitable for a 4'6" 9-year- old all arounder? BC
The 2018 Wilson A2000 Pedroia Fit 11.25" Baseball Glove: WTA20RB18PF88 will be a higher quality leather than the A1000, so it will be stiffer and take longer to break in. For a 9 year old, I would recommend the A1000 since it will be easier to break in and the leather will be less stiff.
Tori
Does this come in an 11.5" pattern? Anonymous
No, we do not have that specific model and color scheme available in an 11.5" size.
Kyle J.
Would you recommend this glove for my son? He is 8 year old and plays 2nd base. Or do you think I should go with a smaller size? Felix Stroman
No, I would not recommend the Wilson A2000 Pedroia Fit 11.25" Baseball Glove: WTA20RB18PF88 for an 8 year old. This is an adult glove and would be too large. You can still look at 11.25'' gloves, but just make sure they are youth models to ensure a good fit.
Tori
What is the official wrist opening of this glove? Ex. Rawlings youth pro taper 6-6.5'': Narrow 6.5-7'': Standard 7-7.5. Dale Bruce
The Wilson Pedroia models will fall into the same range as the Narrow Fit models made by Rawlings, as they are both designed for intermediate players. So the wrist opening will be somewhere between 6.5"-7".
